Well, through online, finally i able to get to know more about these "China’s 4 Great Animals". When i was primary school, i did read a lot of story book about how beauty was the China history, this 4 animals is one of the story i love.

These 4 animals involve Dragon(青龙), Tiger(白虎)，Bird(朱雀)，and combination of snake and turtle(玄武). According to the history, 青龙 is taking care of East, where the East represent color is green, so it call as Green Dragon(青龙)。白虎 is taking care of West, where the represent color is white, so it call as White Tiger(白虎)。朱雀 is taking care of South, and the represent color is red. As the picture show, it looks like the Bird King (Fung Wong 凤凰)， but according to record, 朱雀 is greater than 凤凰.For those who know madarine, 朱stand for the color RED, where 雀is mean for bird. So in short, it call as Red Bird(朱雀)。The last animal is 玄武，it is taking care of North,and the represent color is Black.   Using Turtle bringing the meaning of long live. In the early stage, 武bring the meaning of Black, so 玄武 actually pointing to turtle because the color and it’s long live, and for those who know the china history, in the early stage, some people used Turtle shell to ask for luck, future or pass. This is wat they believe, and bring out the 玄武. Some book did record 玄武also point to combination of Snake and Turtle, so until today, we recognize 玄武 as the combination of snake and turtle.

For me, it’s something i want to know more only. When u read as story, actually it’s very fun and you will know the culture better. so next time when go to China for holiday, grap a chance to go n visit the beauty of the culture there, you will be amaize the beauty of China History..
